This note is for those who are unfamiliar with the Cessna Pilots Association education sessions.

Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending a two day session on the Cessna 182 covering its Systems and Procedures. John Frank and Ron Martinson provided the instruction, and their knowledge of the aircraft, its construction, its operating systems, and its maintenance needs is outstanding.

A very thorough manual is provided by CPA as the basis of their discussion points, while their discussion covered the entire manual and supplemented its information well beyond what one would normally expect.

Both fellows were quite patient in responding to all questions and concerns raised by the 38 attendees, even those from a guy like me whose life has not.. uh... been distinguished by the demonstration of high mechanical instincts and skills.

While the 260SE differs from the C-182 in re its fuel injected engine and canard (plus a few other "Todd Tweaks"), the course is still well worth the time and cost, particularly since the IO-470 merely adds fuel injection to the stock O-470 in the C-182.

In fact, John and Ron were also quite patient in helping me better understand the few 260SE differences resulting from Todd's good work.

Bottom line: The CPA C-182 program is a valuable addition to the knowledge base of a 260SE owner/operator.

That's good news Pete. I'm registered for the Dallas course in October and am looking forward to it.
