Recently returned from a trip along the Canadian Arctic coast in the Wren 600. There are some new photos from the trip added to the C-GOEM album. The plane ran well and provided the right tool for exploring the north.

Great photos!

I moved the C-GOEM album so that it is at the top of the albums list. Here's (http://www.260sepilots.org/gallery/C-GOEM?&page=1) the link. :)

Good to see you out and about in your Wren. Some pics of mine at www.reith.com.au I had it for sale but maybe I'll keep it for now. I'd like to install a reversing prop which I believe the Wren was certified for originally. Does anyone have information about this?

G-day Sandy,

The reversible pitch prop on the original Wrens was manufactured by Hartzell. I believe the STC for it is #SA874SW. As I recall, the prop is somewhat longer than the standard 82" Mac on the standard Wren resulting in less ground clearance. It apparently had reduced takeoff performance relative to the standard prop although it would approach steeper and land shorter. This could get you into the situatiion where you could land in a place you could not take off from! Also, the Beta fail-safe sytem was rather poorly designed and could generate some challenging flight scenarios. Good luck in your quest.

I installed the same type of wingtips as your Wren with the following results:
very slight decrease in take-off run, significant increase in ROC, very slight increase in cruise speed, slight reduction in stall speed, reduced vibration in the outboard hinge fairing, reduced flaperon response at slow speeds. We adjusted the tails of the teeth outboard about two degrees to restore the roll authority.

Thanks for your info Rod and glad that I was able to help with your wing tips. I'd still like to explore the reverse prop idea and have checked with Hartzell but they don't this prop as a standard model. I've just emailed Pete Grubb at 'Propcenter' and I'll see what else turns up. sandy@reith.com.au again if you would like to email. Cheers Sandy
