I have used this tach in two of our personal airplanes and I like it a lot. The tach derives its information from the magnetos so it is quite accurate. I have also found it to be trouble free. All in all I think it is a good piece of equipment.

Todd,

Thanks for the reply. If one can get past the price, this tach does seem to offer some attractive capabilities (reads accurate instead of low, watches mags for you, etc).

Did you install this tach in any of the 260SEs or in your acro planes? Do you have any insight on how to handle the FAA/logbook paperwork (STC, field approved, etc) when installing this tach in a 260SE?

I briefly talked to someone at Horizon and they weren't sure how to proceed with an IO-470-F installed in a C-182, especially getting the green, yellow and red limitations displayed on the tach to align with what the 260SE STC says.

I had this tach in a Bellanca with an IO-470F engine and it seems like we also had this tach in a 260SE. I will do some research and see what I can come up with.

The range markings should not present a problem as all one has to do is give the manufacturer the rpm ranges from the POH Suppliment.
