canard on new or newer Cessnas

What is the reason the canard mod cannot be installed on the newer Cessnas or factory New Cessnas?

Are there plans to install the canard on new / newer 182 in the future?

The price difference between a new 182 and a old 182+ canard mod are not to far away. Would it be better to buy factory new instead of something +20 years old?
