I know some of you transport very ill passengers through Angel Flight. Challenge Air for Kids and Friends is another wonderful organization that offers ample opportunity to touch many lives in a positive way while doing what we all love to do: flying our planes.
To learn about Challenage Air go to www.challengeair.com.
Challenge Air has 501(c)(3) status, so you can deduct your expenses (consult your tax advisor).
For you California pilots, the next two events are in the Los Angeles area (Whiteman Field / WHP) on 3 November and near San Diego (Brown Field / SDM) on 17 November.
I recently participated in two fly days; one in Mesquite, Tx (East Dallas) and one in Oklahoma City. To see the look of joy on these kids faces is a heartwarming experience. Seeing the challenges these kids and their parents face every day puts my/your own challenges/problems in a new light! It is, indeed, an eye-opening, humbling, but very gratifying experience.
