I just finished welding up a canard torque tube and before I head home to the world's best wife I wanted to wish all my friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a good year and I wish nothing but the best for you next year. Your friendship means everything to Jo and I.

Merry Christmas to you also! I hope you weren't welding on my plane on Christmas! I would feel bad.
Are we ready to go to paint next week? How did the engine job go?

This time of year in Kansas it's mostly all torque and no flying.
Senior Management and I send our best wishes to all of you on this forum and we hope to see you at Sedona in early May!
May you all enjoy your planes as much as we are enjoying our new Katmai! :D

See this post (http://www.260sepilots.org/forums/showthread.php?t=500) from a bit over two weeks ago. It was posted as "sticky," i.e. it remains at the top of the list of threads on this very forum. ;)

We celebrated by going out in 2PL and converting a bit more than 200 lb of Dinosaur Reduction into noise, pollution, and greenhouse gas: a beautiful flight down the coast to Oceano (L52) and back. Smooth ride with 15-20 kt winds out of the south. Surface winds were calm and we used about 1/3 of L52's 2300 foot rwy 29, hardly had to use the brakes to turn off at the first exit at midfield. L52 is only a 10 minute walk from the beach and it's a nice place to stop if beach-walking is your thing.
Great sunset reflecting off the ocean on the way back, ground lights were just coming on as we passed over Monterey. How much more blessed could I be, with a beautiful wife in the right seat, Byron in back, smooth air, tailwind, and the panorama of the Pacific Coast spread out before us?
Wonderful way to start the year! :)
