Some time ago, I made a tentative chart of 260SE performance numbers (flap setting, MP, RPM, Pitch, KIAS, VSI) for different aircraft configurations (from takeoff through landing).

There are some 'gaps' in the chart and some of the figures might need refining.

Is anyone interested in doing some test-piloting in their 260SE, to give me some additional input for this chart (note there are some gaps)?

I am attaching the file in a separate posting.

Getting the text file to tab properly has been giving me a headache, so please bear with me.

Please provide your own 'figures' so that I can modify this chart.

Thanks!

My own list is much more limited, and follows. Note that I think individual 260se's will vary most in results for (a) cruise (b) 120 KIAS level, and (c) short-final approach (full aft trim, hands--off).

I normally depart at about 250 lb under MGTOW: myself, Tina, Byron/car seat, and full fuel.

Maximum performance climbout: full throttle, max rpm. 76 KIAS gives every bit of 1300-1400 or more fpm (sea level, temps usually warmer than ISA). 57 KIAS with 20 deg flaps: not sure of the climb rate but the gradient is remarkably steep.

Normal climbout: full throttle, 2500 rpm, 80-85 KIAS yields 1000-1200 fpm coming out of PAO (sea level, temps usually warmer than ISA).

Cruise climb: full throttle, 2500 rpm, 95-105 KIAS, leaned for EGTs in high 1200s/CHTs below 380 gives 700-1000 fpm depending on altitude & temp.

Cruise:
22"/2400 rpm gives 126-127 KIAS;
23"/2400 rpm gives 128-131 KIAS, depending on weight & temp.
At low altitude, 24"/2400 rpm (yikes!) gives 134-137 KIAS.

Cruise descent: 20"/2400 rpm, pitch for 500 fpm down gives about 140 KIAS.

Level off near the airport (VFR): 15"-16"/2400 rpm gives 100-110 KIAS.

Downwind level: 16-17"/2400 rpm, 20 deg flaps gives ~65 KIAS. Then I don't change anything but power until short final.

Short final (quarter-half mile): full aft trim, 20 deg flaps, 13-14"/max rpm, 57-63 KIAS depending on CG & weight, about 500 fpm down.

Short-short final (100-200 yards out): manual back pressure to get 46-50 KIAS as I cross the numbers.

Approach level (IFR):
19"-20"/2400 rpm gives 120 KIAS;
15"-16"/2400 rpm for 100-110 KIAS.

Reduce 3" for ILS glideslope descent; reduce 5" for nonprecision descent.

I usually fly my nonprecision approaches at 120 KIAS until levelling off at MDA, then configure for 100 KIAS.

If an ILS to near minimums I use 100 KIAS. If I know I'll break out at 500-1000 agl, I use 120 KIAS.
